Presentation of the Aula Film Foundation – Josep M. Queraltó Collection and its Website in Valladolid

On the 30th of October 2015, as part of the 60th Valladolid International Film Festival (SEMINCI), the Aula Film Foundation – Josep M Queraltó Collection held an event at the Hotel Olid to present the Foundation, created in 2010, its website www.aquestforadream.com, the trailer for the documentary JMQ: A Quest for a Dream, and the film soundtrack composed by young musician Alfred Tapscott. To close the event Ana Arrieta was named as a new Patron of Honour of the Foundation.

The Foundation is governed by a Board of four members, consisting of president Josep Maria Queraltó, vice-president Jorge S. Bonet, secretary and director, Maria Luisa Pujol, and the treasurer, Maria Rosa Barceló. It has two main objectives: firstly, to create an educational and interactive museum space for the general public, housing the more than 20,000 items of cinema-related material gathered over some 35 years by Josep Maria Queraltó, and secondly, to spread knowledge of film technology.

Its newly launched website has been created to report on the Foundation’s general activities, on the documentary JMQ: A Quest for a Dream, produced by the Foundation and AMC, and on the cinema museum that opened on 4 July in Vallbona de les Monges (Espai Cinema Museístic – Col·lecció Josep M. Queraltó). The site also has a section for donations to the Aula Film Foundation – Josep M Queraltó Collection, and is maintained in three languages: Spanish, Catalan and English.

Guests at the event included Foundation Patrons of Honour Juan Mariné, who was awarded a Gold Lifetime Achievement Award at SEMINCI, and Yvonne Blake. Also present were Javier Angulo, journalists Boquerini and Jairo, critic and writer Àngel Comas, director and critic Antoni Llorens, producer Isona Passola, film makers Agustí Villaronga, Joaquim Oristrell and the Serbian Goran Paskaljevic, and the president of the International Jury for the Official Section of the festival, among others. Actor Apolinar Losada, in the guise of Grouch Marx, fulfilled emcee duties.
