The Aula Film Foundation – Josep M. Queraltó Collection announced Ana Arrieta as its new Patron of Honour last 30 October at a ceremony held as part of the Valladolid International Film Week (SEMINCI), which was also used to present the five years of the Foundation’s existence, its website, the official trailer for the documentary JMQ: A Quest for a Dream, and the original film soundtrack by young composer Alfred Tapscott.
Ana Arrieta is a renowned lawyer closely associated with the film and television business. She has been director of the Spanish Film Academy and the Luis Borau Foundation. Currently, she heads up legal consultancy ECAM and collaborates with other film institutions. The relationship with Aula Film Foundation president Josep M. Queraltó began in 2007 when Arrieta, as then director of the Spanish Film Academy, helped the Foundation put together a truly spectacular exhibition showing off many items from its collection of film equipment and memorabilia.
To date Patrons of Honour of the Foundation include film maker José Luis Borau, Director of Photography and film restorer Juan Mariné, Director of Photography Tomás Pladevall, costume designer Yvonne Blake, the University of Barcelona, actor Emilio Gutiérrez Caba, and director of Antaviana Films and postproduction and 3D specialist José M. Aragonés.
